1,000.00

The Femto Visum by Opto Systems is a highly advanced femtosecond laser system that has have been designed in cooperation with international KOLs in refractive surgery, making it once of the most innovative, efficient and reliable laser systems that can deliver results of the highest quality under the most demanding applications in modern corneal surgery, such as Femtolasik, Keratoplasty, Lentex, Tunnel, Pocket and Incisions.

Specification

Expanded range of femtosecond ophthalmic surgeries:

  • FemtoLASIK with controlled side-cut angle
  • Penetrating, front and back keratoplasty with controlled side-cut shape
  • Formation of corneal pockets for intrastromal lenses and rings
  • Formation of corneal tunnels for intrastromal corneal segments
  • Corneal arched laxative incisions.

Complete absence of tissue bridges in the visual zone

Proprietary technologies were used to eliminate tissue bridges

  • Smooth Lines: The technology eliminates the sharp edge of neighboring scan lines. This completely eliminates laser cut non-uniformity.
  • Multi Overlay: This technology facilitates scan line overlay. To achieve a reliable and uniform cutting, the laser is passed multiple times in each of the treated areas. This minimizes formation of tissue bridges.
  • Easy Lift: This technology – used to increase radiation density at the side-cut zone during O-LASIK surgery – can obtain an easily detachable flap. In this case, the impact in the visual zone is minimized.

Proprietary femtosecond fiber laser

The all-fiber femtosecond laser provides a 200-400 fs pulse duration – the minimum value for ophthalmic femtosecond lasers in the market. Ultrashort pulse duration facilitates maximum energy density at the focus for a more effective corneal photodecomposition and minimization of corneal heating. Some of the advantages of femtosecond fiber lasers – high reliability, safety, and weak environmental influence on the laser output characteristics.

High pulse repetition frequency 1 MHz reduces surgery time while maintaining the distance between spots to only 2-3 microns.

The small distance between pulses in combination with other unique laser beam scanning technologies used in the Femto Visum system ensure complete absence of tissue bridges. Owing to the low average power output of the system, gases are not actively released in the corneal layers, which results in the cut zone becoming optically transparent a little time after the surgery. This allows the tracking system of the medical excimer laser to be aimed almost immediately after corneal flap formation.

Unique optical scheme with a focal point size of less than 2 microns

The patented optical scheme achieves a laser spot size of only 2 microns in focus and minimizes the laser cut thickness to about 5 microns. In this case, corneal flap separation is done with highest quality. The corneal surface is uniform and has no tissue bridges.

Non Invasive patient interface

The optimized patient interface alters the natural eye curvature only slightly, which increases intraocular pressure by a little. At the same time, the patient’s eye is firmly fixed, thereby significantly reducing the likelihood of eye displacement during surgery.

The flat shape of the patient interface ensures uniform distribution of laser energy across the entire area of the processed zone. Therefore, the laser cut thickness is the same along the entire diameter of the formed flap.

The patient interface is attached to the docking cone also with the help of vacuum. The interface can be easily and efficiently fixed with just one touch.

There are several standard patient interface sizes that can achieve maximum applanation size in cases where the patient has different eye sizes, including children’s size. The use of different standard sizes provides additional comfort for patients and convenience for surgeons.

Additional benefit of two keypads

The system is controlled using two symmetrical sterilizable keypads. The two keypads are designed such that they give equal convenience to both left- and right-handers. One keypad can be used as sterilized and the other as non-sterilized. Surgeries can be performed using only the keypad and pedals.

User-friendly software

  • The software is optimized for touch sensors – a stylus, mouse and keyboard are not needed
  • The software doesn’t use small and difficult-to-read font
  • In the operation window, surgery parameters can be momentarily controlled during eye docking
  • When inputting parameters, the surgeon will be able to see the duration of the impending surgery
  • Immediately after fixing the patient’s eye, the formed flap can be further aligned

Simple and easy to use

  • A built-in laser sight for indicating the eye docking zone.
  • Can be easily interfaced with any excimer laser system with the help of a rotary operating table.
  • A special built-in table for keratoplasty on the donor cornea.
  • Femto Visum allows for regular wet cleaning. The screen panel is IP65 protected
  • Femto Visum system is small in size, mobile and can be transported over long distances without losing its performance specifications

KERASCAN SOFTWARE

Developed by Optosystems, Kerascan is designed to measure customized correction of irregular corneal surface defects based on data obtained from corneal topography machine Tomey TMS-5, while preserving the natural corneal asphericity. Files generated by Kerascan are subsequently used on ophthalmosurgical system Microscan Visum. In topo-guided customized correction, the capabilities of the flying spot technology of scanning system Microscan Visum are fully used.
